What is Event Coordination?

 

By definition Event means a social occasion or activity. Coordination means a harmonious functioning of parts for the most effective result. An Event Coordinator is one whose main objective is to pull all resources together to create a social event in an organized and pleasant manner.

 

How much does an Event Coordinator charge?

 

It is important to know that most Event Coordinators will work with you and your budget to determine what services best fit your financial situation. Today's Event coordinators provide a variety of services, at various cost. On average a Full Coordination will range from $5000 upward to $15,000; the use of an Event Coordinator for the day of the event will range from $1500 upward to $6000 and hourly consultations can range from $50-$200 per hour.

 

When do I hire an Event Coordinator?

 

It is a good idea, if finances permit, to hire a Coordinator as soon as you have set a date. Do you travel outside of the Delaware Valley? Do you plan destination weddings?

 

Yes, while we are based in the Delaware Valley (New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware) we are willing to take projects in any location. Travel expenses will also be assessed. Caribbean and European destinations present no problem to plan.

 

Is it true that having a wedding in off months (September thru November or January thru March) will save money?

 

Once there was great truth in having a wedding during the "off-peak" seasons (November thru March) However, Fall and Winter weddings are quickly becoming a popular. While the rates may be similar to those during "on-peak" months (April thru August) you may find some additional savings during these times.

 

How much does the average wedding cost?

 

Depending on your geographic location, you should expect to pay on average at least 35% of your estimated budget on your reception. That is about $75 to $100 per guest. The other 65% will incorporate all the other details for your day. While it is better to overestimate your cost, a Coordinator will show you how to allocate your money so that you get the most for your dollar.

 

Who pays for what when it comes to weddings? Is it true that the bride’s family pays the bulk of the cost?

 

This in no longer the case, as many couples are opting to pay for their own wedding. While traditionally wedding expenses were divided, with the Bride’s parents paying 50% to 75%; we now find that the financial aspects of wedding finances are being left up to the bride and groom.
